About Erica

Healthcare professional. Advocate. Board leader. Speaker.

Portrait of Erica

Erica is a Registered Pharmacy Technician working in hospital pharmacy and a passionate advocate for healthcare access, eating-disorder care, and the power of lived experience.

Her advocacy is grounded in both professional healthcare experience and a deeply personal understanding of what happens when a patient needs care that is not available close to home. After surviving severe anorexia and travelling to the United States for specialized treatment, Erica chose to use the life she fought for to help create change for others.

She serves as a Board Director with the National Initiative for Eating Disorders and has been involved with the Canada Africa Community Health Alliance since 2017, including multiple medical missions to Tanzania and board leadership.

Whether speaking to healthcare professionals, patients, families, nonprofits, or community audiences, Erica's message is consistent: access matters, compassion matters, and there is always value in continuing to look for a path forward.
